Admission for all film screening events is FREE and open to the general public. Seating is first come, first serve. Doors open 30 min before the screening time. Due to an expected capacity crowd, please arrive early.

Each film in its independent vision and voice describes the fringe; the mundane and the so-called "unnoticed" which suggest the unglamorous. ...But these films also provide a sense of the outsider looking in, of the resultant struggles of life, giving another layer, something vibrant, kooky and odd that is part of and integral to Taiwan.

*English subtitles will be in all films...

[drag your friends along, not because they have to feel some sort of "deep connection" to Taiwan or something... but that these are honestly really good movies! and it's rare for them to be screened in a theater-like setting in the United States]

On Mother's Day in Taipei, Chen Mo makes a date for dinner with his wife, hoping to heal their estranged relationship. While purchasing a cake on his way home, a car double parks next to his car, preventing his exit. For the entire night, Chen Mo searches for the owner of the illegally parked car and encounters an eccentric cast of characters. When Chen Mo finally frees his car, and with new friends riding beside him, he finds himself advancing toward a new horizon in life.

Follows the daily lives of different people, observing the reserved way they go about their lives: a well off married couple from Taipei who have become more and more estranged and have slowly fallen silent since the birth of their child; a fruit dealer from the countryside and his wife who try together to battle his alcohol problem; a young woman who works out her aggressions through kickboxing; a young boy who roams around, and a lonely man who delivers massive statues of the Buddha. Some of these people take surprising turns while some of them cross each other's paths and fates.

Yang-yang is a French-Chinese mix. She has never seen her French father. She does not speak a single French word. Her mum has re-married but she has been very lonely. She started working at the entertainment industry. The fact that she is a mix is a good selling point. The film depicts how Yang-yang dealt with her life, her relationships with men, with her mother and friends.
